Everything You Need to Know About Remote ISTQB Exams

  • Location

    After purchasing your remote (FLEX) exam, you can take the test from any location, including your home. Exams are live-proctored (specific requirements for remote exams apply).

  • Second try

    When you opt for a second try (2TRY), you’ll invest an additional 25% with your initial purchase. You can retake an exam if you do not succeed on your first try. Don’t forget to request iSQI for your repeat exam within 90 days of your initial attempt.

  • Sample Exam

    You can download official ISTQB sample exam questions from istqb.org. Reviewing these will help you familiarize yourself with the question format and improve your exam readiness.

How to Purchase an iSQI Exam Voucher for ISTQB Certification

Here is a step-by-step guide to help you purchase your iSQI exam voucher efficiently. This voucher allows you to schedule your exam at your convenience and benefit from various optional services provided by iSQI.

1. Visit iSQI Website

Go to the official iSQI website:

In the search bar, type ISTQB to find the available ISTQB exams.

2. Select Your Desired ISTQB Exam

Choose the ISTQB certification level you are planning to take.

Click on the exam title to open the detailed product page.

3. Choose the Exam Format

Online Proctored: Take the exam from home with online supervision. Available worldwide with flexible scheduling.

Pearson VUE Test Center: Take the exam in a physical test center. Useful if you prefer a controlled environment.

4. Select Language and Add Optional Services

1. Exam Language: Choose between English or other languages.

2. Extended Time (Time Bonus): You may add 25% extra time if the exam is not in your native language and you are taking the exam in a non-native country (e.g., English exam in Lithuania).

3. Retake Option: Allows a free second attempt if you fail the first exam. Highly recommended for peace of mind.

5. Add the Exam to Cart and Check Out

Remote ISTQB Exam with iSQI

Once you have purchased your iSQI voucher, follow these steps to schedule your remote proctored exam on ExamUnit.

Step 1: Prepare Your Voucher Code

You will receive your voucher code by email. It looks like this:
1500-0444-5TTP-N2H7-J3GF

🕐 Note the expiry date — your voucher must be used before this date.
📩 Keep this code safe, you will use it during the registration process.

Step 2: Register Your Exam Slot

  • You will receive a link to the iSQI booking platform via email
  • Enter your voucher code when prompted.
  • Choose a suitable date and time (be sure to select the correct time zone).

Time bonus: If you’re eligible for extra time (e.g., taking the exam in a non-native language), tick the time-bonus box.

Step 3: Watch for Confirmation Emails

After booking, you will receive two emails:

  • Confirmation of your scheduled appointment.
  • Email with a link for the system check and a separate link to start your exam.

Check your spam/junk folder if you don’t see these.

Step 4: Complete Your System Check

At least 48 hours before your scheduled exam run the system check using the link provided. This ensures your device is compatible with ExamUnit’s platform. Failing to complete this in time may lead to cancellation without a refund.

Step 5: Prepare for Exam Day

Before your exam starts:

  • Have a valid photo ID ready (passport, ID card, etc.).
  • Make sure you are in a quiet room, alone, and your webcam and microphone work.
  • Join the session via the link sent in the ExamUnit email.

Important Notes

  • If you miss your scheduled time, don’t complete the system check, or have technical failures, you may need to purchase a new voucher.
  • To reschedule, do so at least 48 hours in advance using your existing voucher.
  • To cancel your appointment, contact isqi.org
